Well, we’re almost halfway through January and most men who have made any new year resolution have probably shelved them already. Have you ever thought about what keeps you from doing the things you know you should be doing, and how that adversely affects your mental health, your relationships, your self-esteem?

The single major obstacle to anything a man plans to do is his vision of himself. He simply cannot commit to anything unless he knows enough about himself to accept that the commitment will be worthwhile, has meaning, and has value to him as a person and his life trajectory. You may think you are enjoying something only because it’s there and is easy; that’s not enjoyment, it’s just stone dead.

I’m going to ask you to do something: Go to a mirror and ask yourself, “Do I know you?” Chances are, if you’re very honest with yourself, you have to answer, “No. I’d like to know you but you’re as stranger.” That’s a very scary situation when you have a stranger living rent free in our skin!

There are quite a few men whom I classify as seekers; they are seeking, questioning, and on a quest to become who they are, really, whom they are meant to be. These men can be called the “chosen,” because they authentically want to become rather than the many who just sit and wait for being to come to them — and die waiting. What a waste.

Everywhere you look, someone is trying to sell something by “offering a challenge,” and men, because of toxic cultural conditioning, stereotypes, and social scripts, feel they have to take the challenge. Suckers! It’s YOU who should be challenging; you should be challenging everything. Only a warrior will challenge the status quo and rise above the mud and filth to radiance, just as the legendary lotus rises from the bottom mud through the water to emerge purest white, never contaminated by the mud. That is the symbol of the Divine Masculine Spirit we awaken in Homoerotic Yogic Tantra and the Mascul-IN-Touch℠ & Mascul-IN-Timacy℠ programs.

In homoerotic yogic Tantra a man learns how to awaken the Divine Masculine Spirit, he travels the path of self-awareness, and on that path learns surrender, trust, and acceptance of healthy vulnerability. He searches deep within himself to find his soul, his Self, his link to the cosmic. He learns the creativity that is homoerotic. He applies the principles of yogic science and philosophy in his personal and social life. Finally, he practices Tantra (à€€à€šà„à€€à„à€°), and through the exercises, practices, and rituals with his Beloved, his Tāntric Lover, he enters a mystical marriage, Divine Union, what we call maithuna (à€źà„ˆà€„à„à€š). It’s transcendence, a mindset, a lifestyle.

It’s never too late to become to belong, to be longing; it’s the longing that motivates, once a man stops longing to belong and to become, he has stopped living.

So, instead of issuing a worthless challenge, I’m offering you the opportunity to explore and discover your true self. It’s not an easy task and takes a lifetime or what’s left of a lifetime, but it puts that lifetime in a very positive perspective, giving it more meaning, value, and promise.

If you have ever read the statistics on how much time a man spends online, on social media, doing absolutely nothing that actually benefits him, you were probably shocked. Well, you know how much time you actually waste surfing, searching, looking for someone who responds to you or to your online self. Rather than wake up and smell the coffee — the very people, rather the digital algorithms, you are desperately trying to attract — are all doing the same thing! They are reaching out farther and farther from their centers, begging for someone to be aware of them! It’s a desperate and hopeless road to self harm. If you can admit that you are doing the same thing, you need to do better for yourself.

Give it a try. There are no obligations during the introductory week or two; actually, there are no ‘obligations’ to anyone but yourself. Give yourself two weeks to explore Homoerotic Yogic Tantra. Over those two weeks you’ll do a couple of self-assessments to get some idea of where you are in terms of self-awareness and whether you will benefit from Homoerotic Yogic Tantra and Mascul-IN-Touch℠ & Mascul-IN-Timacy℠. The self-assessments are meant only for your eyes, so you don’t have to worry about sharing anything deeply personal; later, if and when you decide to join our community of men, I will ask you to share those assessments, but only once you are committed to the program.

During the two Introductory Weeks, I will send you basic modules for what is called solo-cultivation, exercises and practices you do on your own in order to get to know yourself. You will also receive reading material about the process and goals of Homoerotic Yogic Tantra.

Finally, you will have a number of chats and email conversations with me, Dāka Karuáč‡Ä, your personal mentor and guide, about what you are learning and how you feel about what you are experiencing.

By the end of the two week Introductory period, you will know whether you want to continue to the actual programs, and we will discuss what’s the best way to do that.

For starters, you should visit the 108 Days of Reflection and Meditation site, since self-reflection and meditation are important disciplines you will cultivate. Here on the public Homoerotic Yogic Tantra site, where you will find a treasury of information on the science, philosophy, and programs. At some point, if you are serious about your development, you will want to request access to the private Homoerotic Yogic Tantra site, which is for members only.

At some time you might want to join the Homoerotic Tantra group on LinkedIn or, if you are a Facebook denizen, the Homoerotic Yogic Tantra Facebook group. You will find updates and notices and links for new posts and articles there.

Over the past 3 years, that is, about a year before the so-called pandemic to the present, I have been keeping up with the spiritual and psychological literature as well as observing trends and developments in the arena of masculinity, gender, and identity. From my Archimedean vantage point as a detached observer not politically or emotionally involved, I have been able to identify a number of phenomena, which may have passed under the radar of those men who are unaware of what’s going on or those who are hyperaware of what’s happening to them, and, consequently, politically and emotionally drawn into the chaos. Both groups, the unaware and the hyperaware are at increased risk of depersonalization and dissociation, two consequences of overwhelming challenges to psychospiritual nature.

I’m going to risk a sweeping generalization by saying that in the male population that appears drawn to Homoerotic Yogic Tantra, there are three distinct groups:

  • đŸ†ˆđŸ…ŸđŸ†„đŸ…œđŸ…¶ đŸ…ŒđŸ…ŽđŸ…œ đŸ…žđŸ…œ đŸ†ƒđŸ…·đŸ…Ž 18-30 đŸ…°đŸ…¶đŸ…Ž đŸ…¶đŸ†đŸ…ŸđŸ†„đŸ…ż, who are torn between preparation for an occupation or career but have been brainwashed into thinking that the socioeconomic world of their parents and teachers is even close to the chaotic and unstable world they are about to enter or have entered; these young men have grown up and matured — I use that term very liberally — in a world in which tradition, morality, and values in general have been cast to the winds; they have no compass to guide them on their course.
  • The second group includes đŸ…ŒđŸ…ŽđŸ…œ đŸ…žđŸ…œ đŸ†ƒđŸ…·đŸ…Ž 30-50 đŸ…°đŸ…¶đŸ…Ž đŸ…¶đŸ†đŸ…ŸđŸ†„đŸ…ż who at the lower end have generally distorted or poorly framed guideposts but have grown up in a world in which traditional values and family have suffered severe setbacks without having been replaced by anything resembling groundedness or stability; the men at the older end can at least look back and recognize tradition, morality, and values, even if it’s been made incredibly difficult and dangerous to live them.
  • The third group overlaps with the second group and includes đŸ…ŒđŸ…°đŸ†ƒđŸ†„đŸ†đŸ…Ž đŸ…ŒđŸ…ŽđŸ…œ đŸ…žđŸ…œ đŸ†ƒđŸ…·đŸ…Ž 50-70+ đŸ…°đŸ…¶đŸ…Ž đŸ…¶đŸ†đŸ…ŸđŸ†„đŸ…ż. I’d like very much to include men in their 80s because they are remarkable resources and can share so much wisdom with the younger groups that I can only call them treasures; regrettably, however, their generations created an ageist mindset that dictated to these men of great achievement that after 65 or retirement, the only place they had was the pasture. That’s a horrible mistake but I will discuss that elsewhere. The 50-70s men tend to be pretty stable and can hold their own but they, too, have been subjected to some very toxic cultural conditioning, harmful stereotypes, and social scripts that have put men and masculinity on the defensive. The white male has very little going for him in the early 21st century, and the threats to the masculine spirit and to masculinity itself are more insidious now than ever before in human history.

The first of the three groups, the youngest men, stand to reap the greatest benefits from a masculine spirituality that fosters and cultivates self-awareness, masculine spirituality, groundedness, and the ability to simplify and let go of harmful attachments and false goals. Not only will they have the opportunity to choose a more fulfilling lifestyle and healthier mindset, they will benefit most because they will likely have more time to enjoy those benefits. On the other hand, they are the most difficult to persuade because of the overall confusion, the distrust they have learned, and their general lack of tradition, values, and self-esteem. Another problem is the fact that they have such deplorable role models; educators, leaders, clergy have all failed in providing positive role models for these young men. Here’s where committed older men, steeped in Homoerotic Yogic Tantra offer this group the greatest returns but requires commitment, energy, and devotion, investments that many younger men are unwilling or unable to make.

Paradoxically, whereas the 30-50s are more settled, they are unsettled. This group have spent and survived most of the exuberance of the inexperienced and immature years, and have settled into careers but for the majority of men in this age group, those careers are tantamount to a death march. Moreover, these men face numerous humiliations in the marketplace and at the job. Again, a middle-aged white male has little going for him in today’s world, and wherever he turns he sees potential hostility or adversity. While the 18-30s can derive the greatest long-term dividends from Homoerotic Yogic Tantra, the 30-50s make up the group that most needs the benefit of yogic science and philosophy and tāntric spirituality in order to cope efficiently with the ubiquitous challenges of masculinity, identity, and status. Once a man is fully immersed in the principles and practices, mindset, lifestyle of HYT, he becomes a better self and a more selfless servant to others.

The 50-70+ man is probably the most grounded; he’s been there and done that — and I mean all of that. There’s not much an awakened, self-aware, mature man hasn’t experienced and evaluated; he’s in the most authentic position to ‘take the best and leave the rest.” He’s more discerning of what is true and what is fake, he can spot a bullshitter from a mile away, and offers and demands authenticity. Unfortunately, such men are a very small minority of the general population, and they may come across as arrogant or intolerant, until one takes the time to appreciate who they are.These men are either quite capable of just leaning back and watching the show or they’ve become sociopaths or closet cases, unable to deal with the attitudes, politics, and scripts being performed. Oddly enough, both of these groups can derive substantial, life-changing benefit from the Homoerotic Yogic Tantra lifestyle, science, philosophy, and practices. This group is the group that serves selflessly as mentors for the two younger groups; the 50-70+ men who serve as mentors and facilitators are remarkable products of self-awareness and resiliance, and they are able to confer this “grace” or “sacrament” to the younger men in discernment.

What I have presented above is, of course, a gross generalization of my observations and experiences but is well-established science as well.

I would be remiss if I weren’t to share that I have identified great wisdom and virtue in each of these groups and, even if I have broken them down into age-delimited groups, ÉȘ ᮅᮏ ᮡᮀɮᮛ ᮛᮏ ᎇᎍ᎘ʜᎀꜱÉȘ᮱ᮇ ᎛ʜᎀ᎛ ÉȘ ᎛ᎇᎀᎄʜ ᎛ʜᎀ᎛ ᮀɱᮇ ÉȘꜱ ᮀ ᎍÉȘɎᎅꜱᎇ᎛, ᮀɮᮅ ᮀɱᮇ ꜱʜᎏ᎜ʟᎅ ɎᎇᎠᎇʀ ᎘ʟᎀʏ ᮀ ᎘ᎀʀ᎛ ÉȘÉŽ ʜᎏᎍᎏᎇʀᎏ᎛ÉȘᮄ ÊáŽÉąÉȘᮄ ᎛ᎀɎ᎛ʀᎀ ᎀꜱ ᮀ ʟÉȘꜰᎇꜱ᎛ʏʟᎇ ᎏʀ ᎀꜱ ᮀ ᮄᮏᮍᮍᮜɮÉȘ᎛ʏ. The basis for that statement is far to complex to be discussed in a short article, and requires a great deal of self-awareness, awakening, and reflection to be truly appreciated but once a man gets his arms around homoeroticism, vulnerability, and intimacy, and he embraces the philosphy of yoga and the practices and rituals of tantra, he finds there is no other path but the path of the tantric Hero-Warrior.

Additional volumes covering the complete 108 Days of Reflection and Meditation themes, and more advanced homoerotic yogic Tantra themes are included in the continuing volumes.

Currently, Volumes I – IV are available, and an additional six volumes are slated for launch in April 2022.

I have opted for the e-book format for several reasons. The first reason is because it’s green. I feel that the complete series in paper copy would be costly in terms of energy and natural products. In order to avoid doing harm to the environment, and to conserve seekers’ resources, electronic format is the most environmentally and user friendly way to provide this important information to seekers, patrons, and the general public.

In this initial launch, which precedes a planned more extensive launch on Amazon in May-June 2022, seekers, patrons, and the general public will have the opportunity to purchase the individual volumes at a considerable savings.

The second reason for the e-book format is convenience. The individual volumes in their present e-book format consist of about 200 pages each. Given the fact that an aspirant or practitioner may be doing exercises or practicing at several levels, he would have to have as many paperback or spiral editions in front of him at any given time. That’s a lot of page turning. Moreover, the sheer weight and volume of paper editions would be extremely onerous, if the aspirant were to want to take his program literature on a trip or on a weekend getaway. In the e-book format he can have all 10 volumes at his fingertips on a laptop or on a tablet! That’s well over 2,000 pages of illustrated training, practice, and reference material in manageable form.

Another convenience is that the program participant will have all the relevant material in one convenient place. Up to now, we have been working from individual module handouts that are published in PDF format for each topic. That can get to be a lot of modules in the course of the program. The e-book contains the most up-to-date versions of the modules and they are all in one place, nicely indexed and with a table of contents. It doesn’t get any easier.

A third reason for the e-book format is availability. In the course of the 16-week Tier I and the 16-week Tier II, program participants will receive individual PDF modules for each exercise or practice. When the module is the topic of an online presentation, chat, or classroom event, the participant can either follow along using the handouts or use his e-book, which can be annotated, searched, etc. I will begin using the e-books in the online presentations, since the material in the e-books will be updated regularly.

Homoerotic Tantra for Men: A New Year & New Enhancements

With the start of a new year and taking full advantage of the indoor-time to be creative, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to make the Homoerotic Tantra:Mascul-IN-Touch℠ and Mascul-IN-Timacy℠ 16-week programs more accessible and more convenient for all seekers, aspirants, and followers.


In addition to the very successful WordPress blogs and the opportunity to spread the good word on Health Web Magazine as an author/expert on men’s health and sexuality and mind-body topics, I have purchased an Internet domain, Tantra4Men.Best, and a contract for Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite) specifically for Homoerotic Tantra:Mascul-IN-Touch℠ and Mascul-IN-Timacy℠ program activities.

The new domain name comes with all the bells and whistles that the big guys use, including: our own web presence, email accounts, chat, meetings, a calendar we can all share, and classroom.

I am particularly enthusiastic about the possibilities offered by the Classroom app and how it will change, enhance, and improve your learning experiences when signed up for any of the 4 levels of the 16-week program cycles. Here’s a synopsis of what we will be able to do with Classroom:

    • Create and manage classes, assignments, and evaluations online without paper.
    • Add materials to your assignments, such as sādhana practice and exercise modules, supplementary material, video clips, Google Forms survey, and other items from Google Drive.
    • Give direct, real-time feedback.
    • Use the class stream to post announcements and engage  participants in question-driven discussions.
    • Start a video meetings and conferences with participants.
    • Invite participants to sign up for email summaries with your upcoming or missing work.
Participants
    • Track classwork and submit assignments.
    • Check originality, feedback, and evaluations/comments by Dāka.
    • Share resources and interact in the class stream or by email.

You can use Classroom in our program teaching activities to streamline assignments, boost collaboration, and foster communication. Classroom is available to you on the web or by mobile app. We can use Classroom with the many tools that you already use, such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.

As we start the new program cycle I will gradually include many of the Google Workspace features in your learning activities. I have already set up the online classrooms for the two introductory/preparation weeks and for the first four weeks of the cycle. Starting with the fifth week, we will start using chat rooms and perhaps online meetings for the weekly meet-ups and chats.[1]

I will also be adding ‘cheatsheets’ for the main features and I’ll publish Quick Start instructions on how to log on to chats, meetings, and classrooms. On an as-needed basis, I will also organize brief training sessions for each of the features we’ll be using, as well as providing links to tutorial videos on YouTube or the Google support sites.

The some 50 program modules and literally dozens of supplementary modules are finalized and ready to go out in PDF form to registered participants at all 4 levels (Vanya (à€”à€šà„à€Ż) (Student Discovery Pass) , Prastāvanā (à€Șà„à€°à€žà„à€€à€Ÿà€”à€šà€Ÿ) (Discovery Pass Level 1), ƚiáčŁya (à€¶à€żà€·à„à€Ż)/Aspirant (ƚiáčŁya Aspirant Level II), Bhakta (à€­à€•à„à€€)/Devotee (Bhakta Devotee Level III).[2] With the new enhancements, those program materials will be made available in the various virtual classrooms rather than being emailed to registered participants, as was done in the past.

Since these new program enhancements are available to registered participants only, I would encourage all beginners to join the private site at Homoerotic Tantra for Men to ensure that you don’t miss any program announcements or instructions on how to register, and how to join the classrooms and chats.

Of course, confidentiality and security are always an issue, and I’d like to assure you that I subscribe to all of the Google Workspace security features. In addition, and as former participants are aware, at registration each participant receives a cryptonym or secret Sanskrit name, which he uses in all public participation in the programs. Only Dāka will know your real name and contact details associated with your cryptonym. No participant information is ever shared; this policy of confidentiality extends not only to a participant’s name and contact details but also includes confidentiality protections offered by the Clergy Privilege afforded by law.

Finally, these innovations and enhancements will free up much of my time and resources that were spent in time-consuming activities, and allow me to spend more time providing you with more direct and personal guidance and developing new program components for you.
